Oboronlogistics participates in the development of the strategy of transport accessibility of the Russian Arctic On may 27, 2020, OBL-SERVICE LLC (a subsidiary of Oboronlogistics LLC) participated in a meeting of the Ministry of the development of the Far East of Russian Federation the Russian Arctic dedicated to ensuring transport accessibility of remote territories of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation.

The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Minister of the Russian Federation on development of Far East and the Arctic A. V. Krutikov, via videoconference.

In accordance with the minutes of the meeting of the State Commission on development of the Arctic may 13, 2020 Ministry of Russia, the defense Ministry of Russia jointly with the highest Executive bodies of state power of constituent entities of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation the possibility of use of aircraft type An-2 Military transport aircraft to implement passenger transportation and solutions of other problems in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation.

During the videoconference, the participants discussed the algorithm for using An-2 aircraft from Military transport aviation and the formation of a route network in the regions of the Russian Federation.

The An-2 multi-purpose aircraft is capable of taking off and landing on unprepared runways and has proven itself well in the conditions of the Far North, delivering passengers and cargo to the territory of Siberia and the Far East for decades.

The Republic of Karelia, the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), the Sakhalin region, and the Republic of Tuva expressed interest in using an-2 aircraft to ensure transport accessibility to remote areas. It was decided to accelerate the work aimed at developing air traffic in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation.

Specialists of LLC "OBL-SERVICE" and the Ministry of regional Development of Russia are working together on the prospects for the development of passenger and cargo transportation in the Arctic from November 2019. We have held several meetings, developed a draft "Concept of the availability of flights in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation", the draft "roadmap for the development of air traffic in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation" and the technical proposal for the development of "Strategies of regional and local air transport in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation".
